Nokia Care Centers

Nokia Care - Cares?

Nokia is a great company who listens to its customers, granted! But it appears as if the people who are listening are only part of the R&D team. Making and selling the phone is just one part of the deal, after sales service is a big factor in consumer satisfaction and sadly here is where there seem to be a few holes which need to be plugged immediately.

I recently got a mail from SV from over at S6ty.com, about a series that he’s running called Nokia Care Nightmares trying to get feedback from people all around the globe who have had a not so pleasing experiences visiting these centers. Let’s hope Nokia will respond after reading few of our stories! Below are a few of my thoughts.

S60 Wishlist: The Future Beckons!

Posted by vaibhavlaw on September 22, 2007

Series 60

S60 the smart-phone user interface, we have all used it; sometimes we loved it and other times it let us down. But, the true fact is that S60 which sits atop the Symbian operating system is one of the most powerful and user friendly user interfaces available for any smart-phone. The other interfaces like UIQ and Windows Mobile cater to PDAs rather smartphones. PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants) are devices with which are data-centered and have telephony as an add-on while smartphones are more telephony-centered with data related features being add-ons. While S60 has a lot of strong points it also has a few shortcomings compared to other interfaces as well as what a smart-phone user wants. This article by Jamal Abid wants to establish a basic wish list for the features that we the S60 users want to included in the next S60 releases by manufacturers world-wide.

The N95 – Getting Things Into Perspective!

Posted by vaibhavlaw on August 11, 2007

The N95 Black!

Even after months of the N95’s release the hype surrounding the ‘multimedia computer’ refuses to die down… Well how could it, with Nokia working so hard to keep it that way!

Symbian Guru and Darla Mack both have the scoop on an upcoming US 3G N95 which scores well above its Euro/Asian brother, the original N95. With a 1200 mAh battery, redesigned multimedia keys and a whopping 128MB of RAM the N95-2 is sure to cause heart break to all existing N95 owners.

Weird N95 Bugs!

Posted by vaibhavlaw on May 31, 2007

Even after the new firmware being released the N95 still has a few bugs left! Newest addition to this list was the camera bug which was brought to everyone’s notice by Steve of AAS. This post talks about some of the others.

  Date Separator

A new bug that I came across was that if you change the Date Separator in the Time and Date Settings found in Clock>Options>Settings to  ‘ : ‘  instead of any of the others, the bluetooth misbehaves! All you gets is:
